Essential Pieces For Your Spring Wardrobe

Essential Pieces For Your Spring Wardrobe

Spring 2017 is upon us, and there is so much to look forward to. “Hamilton” is going national, Coachella is going Gaga, drone food delivery is on the literal horizon, and you’re going to need something to wear for all of it. And this spring you’re going to have the added challenge of coordinating everything you wear with your virtual reality Daydream View headset. (Due out soon!) But have no fear, there’s no need to revamp your whole wardrobe, you just need to add a few essentials. Here’s some of the most fabulous springtime must haves for 2017.

Florals
What is spring without flowers? This season is all about bringing the floral motif alive in dresses, blouses, and skirts. Put the D and G mimosa print pleated floral on the top of your spring list for classic feminine beauty. Then dip into some sporty floral with a sleeveless Free People blouse and Vanessa Bruno Athe skater skirt. The flowered maxi is alive and well in Rebecca Taylor’s rose print silk and check out Rodarte’s ruffled robe dress for easy elegance.

Palazzo Pants
Wide leg pants will be all the rage this spring. Pair them with something sleek and sharp for that tailored look. On offer from Marc Jacobs, look for the high waisted playful wide legs in technicolor pinks and purples. For a more subdued look, the Elizabeth and James black pajama pants may be more up your alley. Bring in cool flowing elegance with the diaphanous Lover stretch cotton wide legs in flowing white, or go earthy with the Persian print from Topshop.

Stripes

Stripes
Be they wide or thin, horizontal or vertical, stripes are always on hand to make a bold statement. This season’s standout stripes include the Chinti and Parker organic cotton pencil skirt in classic black and white and the Rugby Phillippa cut out back dress in a horizontal dove blue and white pattern. No spring wardrobe would be complete without the Tabitha Simmons Multi-striped sandals complete with front ruffle and stiletto heel, a must-have for the young and fashionable. Go mod with a Mango RCD mod T-dress or grab the must have green and white Jil Sanders market stripe twill bag for some chic weekend shopping.

“Pop” of Color
Expect spring 2017 to run the gamut of colors, and not just primaries. Accessorize with bright jewelry like the Alex Bitter beaded turquoise collar, or the fuschia Italia Independente acetate sunglasses. Of course, nothing can take the place of red. Go bold with red Aldo Guttenberg slingback pumps or Zara’s crimson Mommy and Me handbag with an elegant gold clasp and beige strap. Check out Prada’s royal blue canvas flap bag for some eye-popping accessorizing.

The White Suit
Stay cool and professional this spring in a crisp white suit, always a wardrobe staple. Count on J. Crew for their pocketed white conference jacket with Paley pants in-lined linen. Pair Max Azaria’s wide legs with a sleek top or blazer, or invest in one of Anne Taylor’s polished sateen jackets. All Scripts offers up some tailored separates with their Picadilly jacket and cotton trousers and Theory’s Council linen blazer makes for a polished finish for any look.

Metallic dress

Disco Dress
Nothing says “party” quite like the disco dress, and this spring you’ll have your choice of slinky jewel tones and sparkling metallics. Diane Von Furstenberg did her take on the 70′s with her Avram dress in a standout neon shiny purple, while Tibi went full on seventies with their glam pewter high- slit strapless gown, with strategic front slip. Helmut Lang’s one shoulder dress sparkles in a peach shimmer perfect for spring. Halston Heritage shines in silver with it floor length pleated maxi and Nasty Gal Liz displays single sleeve elegance in a gothic flowing gown.
