Your skin can take quite a beating during the daytime,…
It has been said that it is better to be late than to arrive ugly. But what if you never had to make that choice? Do beauty and punctuality really have to be mutually exclusive? Here are some makeup tips and tricks to combine both.
Let’s face it. Creating the base for your face can take loads of time. Concealer, SPF, setting powder, foundation, just thinking about all of it is tiring! BB cream to the rescue. Beauty balm, or BB cream has made its way from southeast Asia to moisturize, protect, and even out skin tone all in one mighty step. Dermatologist Elizabeth Tanzi, MD, says, “A good BB cream will include anti-aging moisturizer, SPF, and a tint to even out skin tone. Slap one on in the morning and you’re good to go.”
If you find yourself struggling to search for different products and making sure each is properly capped and remains paired with its appropriate tool, try doubling up. Look for a lip stain that can be applied to your cheeks, or use a bronzer on your eyelids and cheekbones. You can also try using one product in more than one way. Celebrity makeup pro-Jeffrey Paul suggests spritzing some hairspray on your fingers and using it to shape your eyebrows after using it on your head.
Chunky liners pair the color of shadow with the shaping of liner. Cosmetician Tina Turnbow says, “An eye pencil can define your eye shape, create a sultry smoky eye, and intensify your eye color.” In addition, because these pencils are so thick, they smudge naturally and don’t flake, so you don’t have to worry about careful blending or constant touch-ups.
Our hands are one of the hardest working parts of our bodies, so why not give then one more job? Makeup applicator! Tina Turnbow, whose clients include Olivia Wilde and Claire Danes recommends giving makeup the finger to her clients. She says, “You can use your fingers for any beauty product or part of your face.”
Not only is this a great time saver, but it may also get better results. Turnbow says,”Using your fingers is a great way to feel how much product you are applying on your skin. If you blend each item properly, your makeup will look more natural than if you used brushes.
Smell Good on the Go
