Sensitive skin is unpleasant, can be uncomfortable and is often…
Healthy skin is important to everyone, and it’s not just about getting rid of those fine lines and wrinkles. Getting a smooth, glowing complexion is important as well. And getting those kinds of results doesn’t mean you have to pay for expensive products and salon treatments. Find out how you can get that clear, healthy glow with just a little bit of effort.
Cleanse and Exfoliate: It’s important to remove dirt and oil from your skin so wash your face once a day with a cleanser that is soap free. Avoid sleeping with makeup on as that will clog your pores resulting in an increased chance of breakouts and duller skin. A face wipe is a good option for cleaning your face as it’s easy to use and a good alternative to make up removers. If your face wash is drying out your skin, try mixing a gram of flour with water. This will exfoliate your skin as well as remove any dead cells accumulated on the skin.
Steam: Steam removes impurities deep in the skin and helps open up your pores, making your face glow. It also aids in the removal of blackheads since the steam will soften the pores, making it much easier to pop them. It also facilitates the reproduction of healthy skin cells through boosting blood circulation. Steaming your face at home is easy. Simply boil a pot of water and lower your face down to it keeping a towel on your head. The towel will keep the steam from escaping. Be warned not to keep your face too close as excessive heat can break some veins. Your pores will be kept clean by steaming once a week.
There are also homemade cleaners and masks you can make which will help keep skin smooth and bright. The first of these is a cleanser made with cucumber and milk. The cucumber has cleansing properties and a cooling effect, making skin soft and smooth while tightening pores. It also improves and restores the pH of the skin. You can mix the cucumber juice with milk and leave it on your face for 15 minutes, then rinse for glowing skin.
Honey, olive oil and lemon can make a great cleanser as well. The honey fights skin damage and works an anti-inflammatory. Its antioxidants reduce signs of ageing. Vitamin C can heal skin problems and lighten skin, making it glow. Olive oil maintains the elasticity of your skin and gives it a radiant glow. Mix equal part of the three ingredients and apply it with a cotton ball. Leave on for 20 minutes, then rinse with warm water. The mixture can even be left on overnight.
Yogurt: Yogurt’s proteins, lactic acid and enzymes soothe and cleanse skin, making it smooth and soft. You can combine it with lemon and honey to make an exfoliating mask or massage a tablespoon of yogurt into the face to cleanse it. The enzymes will remove the skin and help in the production of new skin, making it smooth and glowing.
